Default PO325 code *Update*

According to my Aeroforce Gauge, I have a PO325 Engine code.

During light throttle, KR reaches 1.4 degrees and doesnt get any higher than that. Under harder acceleration, KR returns to 0.0

I know it has to do with the knock sensor/module but is there a way to properly diagnose the issue?

I clear the code and it comes right back. No check engine light is on, and I also get a misfire code every now and then, but I dont know which cylinder is misfiring.

Any help is appreciated.

From Techinfo.. not much of a description .. and you covered it
DTC P0325 Knock Sensor Module Performance

I think the knock sensor module is the herpe that sits on the side of the pcm under the little cover. I've got a spare hanging around if you need one to test with..

Do you still have your stock pcm?

Bill, thanks for the offer. I still have my stock PCM. I was planning on pulling it this weekend and making the swap, but I understand that I will need a case learn. (thanks Todd) and Chuck isnt in the shop this weekend to hook up to the Tech II. Should I wait until I can get access to it?

The best way would be to wait for the case learn. It should be able to be swapped in and run w/o being optimalized with a case learn. However in the case learn area..once the car starts with a different PCM or knock module, it should have a case learn to optimize things.

Thanks Bill. I can probably get the car in for the case learn early on in the week as long as Chuck stops by to swap cars. Ill have to talk to him.

I appreciate the help!! Looks like I got something to do this weekend. Ill post back after the swap.

This morning, I got started and removed the knock module from my stock PCM. I went downstairs to swap it with the one that was in the car. When I removed the cover to the one in the car, there was no knock module present

So I go ahead and put the Stock one in and button things up. I was anxious to take her for a ride.

Can I just say that my 97 woke up? What throttle response now!!! Its like a new car.

Before, I never used to get immediate throttle response. it would lag under heavy throttle, then start to go.

Now? what a difference!! I cant even keep traction when I lay into the accelerator.

I took it up on the highway, and did notice that I peaked at 8* KR at WOT then it started to come down as I continued at WOT. I cant believe how fast 90 Comes now

I noticed about 5* KR when I was about 50% on the throttle, heading towards the highway.

It looks like I have to try and figure out whats causing it. The 1.4* I use to get while driving around town is gone!!

I am amazed!!! I cant beleive that I was driving around that long without a knock module in my PCM.
