Do the 96-99 Bonnevilles use the same transmission?

I might just put a used one in my car, but the guy said to make sure I get one that has the same amount of sprockets, same gear ratio. Do all the transmissions fit in the car? [Even the HD?]

If they're different, how do I know which one my car uses?

The 96 uses the 4T60HD, 97-99 uses 4T65E HD

While there are some differences your car could be upgraded to a 4T65HD with a 97 pcm, and 5 wires added to the pcm connector.
