I need to replace my struts and out int KYB GR2'*. I am somewhat knowledgable in car repair, but own very little in the way of tools. I can however do most basics. How difficult is it to swap struts? And do I need any special tools?
The rears are easier than the front'*. You will need spring clamps for the front, but clamping the rear springs will help too.
You will need some larger socket (over 1" I believe for the lower strut bolts) and a good torque wrench.
I'd suggest finding some shop that will replace them for cheap and then take the car to get an alignment.

I just got mine done, the GR2s are much better than stock. The dealer charged $90.00 for each strut including alignment. They said that all they had to do to put the GR2s on the rear was remove the ELC sensor and find something to do with the rest of the ELC components.
Why lose the ELC? I seriously doubt you could tell the difference between GR2'* and Monroe'* top end. And you get to keep the ELC that way

Truthfully, the elc makes no real difference to me. I wanted a better cornering suspension. But all i all, if I can get really cheap oem-type struts, I will probably get those. I figure if I am paying 50 for oem I may as well get the KYB'* for 70. If I can get OEM cheaper, then I may get just regular oem'*.
Hey, just found the Monroe Reflex'* at www.rockauto.com for $95.79, so you can drop the price Will.
I'd like to get them for the rear, but I need the fronts a LOT worse.
