dies and won't start update
Just heard from my mechanic (not a dealer). Car (96 SE) wouldn't start for him either and he noticed that the power windows and seats wouldn't work. Checked the fuses and many didn't have power to them. He figures it'* electrical and might have something to do with the Viper remote starter. The guy who put in the remote starter ran a diagnostic and said it was fine. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Please note new fuel pump, fule filter and new mass airflow sensor, turns over finebut won't start.

Thanks for the help. I've got a little more to add. My mechanic noticed that when the car stalled the fuel injectors shut down along with the power windows, power seat, and a good part of the fuse box. Any idea what controls all of these? Any chance it is the anti-theft system?
On most modern cars, if you pull the ECM or PCM fuse, it cuts off the fuel. The car generally still cranks, but won't start. The accessories still usually work, but the bonneville may be wired different than most. Will it crank, but not start? What I'm getting at here is that most theft deterrents kill power to the PCM.
Thanks. That'* correct. It will crank but won't start. Sometimes it will start fine for a couple of days and than die in the midle of the road one day. It will than crank but not start. Mechanic says that fuel and some accessories aren't getting power so he thought it might be the anti-theft system. I am having the remote starter (Viper) removed today to eliminate that possibility just in case it is doing something.
Would you know if the power windows and seats are on the same anti-theft system as the fuel delivery?

I can see the power windows MAYBE being on the circuit, but the power seats? Not unless they're fed by the same fuse. There'* something disconnected, or a relay not energizing. My knuckle-dragger book only has basic schematics that don't show any accessories. Only base chassis wiring. One more call....anyone out there have the FACTORY service manual for a 96, 97, 98, or 99 Bonneville? We need that schematic before too much money is spent. We can nail it right down.
According to my 97 book, one of the cables from the positive side of the battery feeds the following at the Maxifuse Block:
IGN SW, A/C, PCM/VATS,HORNS/DR.LKS/TRNK RLY, PWR WDO/SR CIRCUIT BREAKER
From what you have stated above, I'd start with the connections at the battery. If you need more specifics, PM me and I'll try to help more.

Thanks to NVSSEI, fuddyduddy121 and willwren. I appreciate your help. The mechanics tell me they checked the cables but I'll clean them myself in the daylight tomorrow. Next time it dies I'll try horn,A/C, and trunk release as well to see if it is everything on the circuit you mention. Thanks again. I'll let you know how it tuns out.
