Had to run through some pretty deep water during a bad rain store yesterday. I could feel the water under my feet and a little got in the door. I was able to drive 20 more miles to work bur noticed that it was running pretty rough when I got there.

It started when I was heading home but felt like it was misfiring. It died before I could get to the end of the block and now won't start. I tried to check the codes but it only flashes 12 over and over. The check engine light is on.

Before i just start replacing sensors can anybody think of what this could be? I was thinking O2 sensor because it is low to the ground but wouldn't it still run if that was the case, or at least get a code?

sounds like you got water in somewhere it shouldnt be with some electrical or up the exhaust pipe im not sure never had this problem

I do have an exhaust leak but I don't see how that would affect anything. Could it be crank sensor? But that still doesn't explain only giving me a just a 12 code. If you have no codes stored does it just keep giving a 12 or does it eventually stop flashing? Where is the ecm in this car?

O it'* a 93 SSE not a 96. Totaled the 96.

I would try taking a hair dryer to ur coil packs... its a possibility

It'* not the O2 sensor. I drove a 1996 Corsica for 2 years with a constant Check Engine Light on for a bad O2 sensor (wasn't paying $70 to replace it). Car ran fine

Can you put a dehumidifier in the car and close it up for the day ?

I think your PCM got wet, or the fuse panel

Maybe your air intake sucked up some water and the filter is soaked. Saw that on a T bird some years back.

it was two things. bad coil pack and blown fuse for fuel pump. forgot about the second fusebox on the passenger side.
