BTW HEATH: Where in Alberta do you live? I'm in Edmonton! Reason being, I might be joining forces with the Alberta GP Club here & get them to let me in & others too!
Drain it then put water on top of it to test for leaks.
No big deal really but it is messy and a empty gas tank is VERY VERY dangerous!!
If you have no leaks then get new gas and fill it up. Remember that gas has to go somewhere so figure that out before you start.

Heath,
I know that you have been bombarded with a lot of good advise, but to rule out the whole in the tank theory, do you smell gas around the back of the car? If you have a sizeable leak, you will be able to smell the gas guarenteed.
You probably got bad gas from the station. Asside from going to the busiest station, avoid a gas station if it has a tanker filling the stations tanks. As the fuel goes into the station'* storage tanks, it will mix all the crud and water that has settled to the bottom. There is no way of knowing when they have filled--it is always a chance you take, but definately stay away if you see the tanker there or if it is pulling away. Good luck.

If you have like 3/4 tank you could get some friends to shake the car mixing the gas while some one starts the car and revs it on and off until it runs smothe then see if you can let it idel for 20 min or more then add some gas
