I am assumming youare talking about the data hookup to your PCM. It isn't under the hood. Look right underneath your steering column, above the drivers feet.

Is it me? Or is GM the only one that puts the DLC under the steering collum? Great place for it in my opinion...
Nope--it'* not just you, or just GM for that matter--OBD connections must be within 1 meter of the steering wheel, so most all manufacturers put them somewhere around the bottom of the dash for ease of connection.
There may be a few oddball ones out there, but not sure what they may be
