so my a/c didn't work, didnt know why, the pressures seemed normal enough, then my instructor worked with me on it (i waited till i was at school so i could get free refrigerant
) so we reclaimed it, recharged it, and now it works fine but the pressures are exactly the same, any ideas why? even my teacher was a bit stumped

That'* a good one. I can make a couple gueses about possibilities, but that'* about it.
- it is possible that you had a lot of junk clogging your orifice tube (and/or the filter there). A good evacuation, vacuum and charge could dislodge that gunk and remove it or cycle it through to be captured elswhere.
- another possiblitity is that there was a bad connection at at sensor and during your work you moved it enough to re-make the connection (a long shot for sure, but it'* happened before).
Tough to say without a bit more info to go on.
