I had the same problem, but i fixed it thank god. Maybe this will help you out. You may have to copy and paste it so u can zoom in .. if u need anything just let me know.

You have to disconnect alot of stuff and unscrew from behind. There'* alot of hidden screws. Your gonna have to detach ur 9way seat buttons and theres 2 there..and u have to come behind from the rear vents and get another 2 screws there. It'* pretty gay, but possible. Good Luck.

what, it pretty.... ah, nevermind, too dirty.

I think I see the difference, SE = bench seat and crappy flip down armrest
everyone elses = buckets and bigass console with 4 thousand buttons, and a cup holder that doesn't suck.

I guess my busted *** one got designed my some kid from Wyoming...

Oh ya!! i know what ur talkin about. I almost bought a 98 SE before i saw my 96 SSEi. The 98 SE had a bench seat straight across..i was amazed because i never saw that before. You also have the gear shifter that is up by the steering wheel, right? Just think of it this way...your car is rarer than alot of ours I'm not exactly sure on what ur problem is now, sorry i can't help ya.

Default Cup Holder

If the arms have little hole in them at the ends then its not broken. The cup holder is supposed to flip out forward toward the dash on a small diameter hinge pin.
