Posted this above under General Chat but do not want any one to miss this. And yes i am mad because Sears will not repair my torque wrench.

Seems that since K-Mart bought out Sears things have changed for the worse.
Hand tools will now be replaced or repaired at Sears discretion.

This means that if you have broken teeth in a ratchet they can hand you a new ratchet or hand you a rusty rebuilt ratchet or tell you to leave the store.
New torque wrenches now have only a 90-day warranty. If you have a torque wrench that was purchased with a lifetime warranty it is no longer covered.

So be careful what you purchase at Sears.

yeah they'll honor the warranty. they have to - the tool was sold with it, so that'* the law. if they try to say otherwise, just kindly inform them that you'll be talking to the BBB at the start of the following business day.

and if they start giving you crap about a broken ratchet, make sure you break it really really really bad before you take it in.

if i ever have a sears person tell me that my tool warranty that came with the tool when i bought it wasn't any good, i wouldn't leave the store until i had a brand new one in my hands, delivered by the manager on duty.

wow thats really sad that they would do that. im sure that when people want to build a tool set they may look twards other brands since craftsman doesnt cover for life anymore. That was a big factor when i started buying tools even tho i dont have the biggest tool set i thought i would get something with a lifetime warranty. oh well might as well step it up to snap-on now.
