Cooling idea's?
John...it'* a heat wave and I think most of us are feeling the same. Yesterday driving home in 95 degree heat I was pushing 210-220 at 70mph. Not knowing when my car was last flushed I decided a 180 stat and flush was due. The below is for others as you mentioned you recently had the flush done.
I pulled out a couple of tools and went to town. Pulled the radiator cap off. Opened petcock/draincock and let it loose, pulled the overflow hose off the radiator and let that drain. Pulled the t stat housing and started cleaning it up. Then I flushed into the block at the t stat housing, back through the top radiator hose, into the radiator cap opening, pulled the top heater core hose and flushed back through as well. Then rinsed out the overflow jug and let everything drain.
With trusty parts in hand

And my trusty hose clamp tool

I went at it. Here'* the t stat housing removed and pushed off to the side..then cleaned up.

Must remember our cars have two gaskets, one for the t stat and one for the housing. Filled up 50/50 with a new lifetime 180 degree t stat. Definately helped out. Next thoughts are Sonoma mentioned his car ran hotter with Iridiums. Got a set of TR 55'*.
