Default Console Gear Indicator Lights

Hey guys, my console lights for PRNOD21 work just fine. It is the small round indicators beside each letter that show you what gear you are in that do not illuminate. I got the console partly apart, (could not get the shifter handle off) and saw the light bulb for the letters was on. Then I saw a wire going to each indicator but they do not work. Checked the fuses and all. What controls these lights? Where could I find that info out? I did a google search and it led me to a thread from in here but would not allow me access to that info in the electrical section. Thanks

Also how does the shifter handle come off?

I forget which style your car has. Some had a single bulb that lit the whole thing and the other style had one bulb further down that lit through what looked like fiber optics to each gear. Kinda sounds like you might have the latter.

Either way, there is a bulb. Sorry I don't think I have any pictures at the moment.

The front of the shift ****.....closest to the radio there is a little pin that holds it in place. Use needle nose and you can get to the pin to remove it. Easy to do.

Yep. C clip in the front of the shifter handle. Pulled it out, removed the torx from under the ashtray & lifted the consol. unscrewed, removed, and opened a plastic rectangular box from under the shift indicator and found a circuit board thingy with light bulbs on it. These look to be soldered on. Anyone know for sure where I sould go from here? I'll have to take it apart agian as I forgot to get pics the first time. There is a 4 wire harness (plug) that goes to it. Anyone know what wire is for what? I'm guessing B+, GRND, and perhaps the other two go the the door locks. (doors lock when you take it out of park) Thanks for any input.

I think you are right and that circuit board is the tran. position decoder module.
grey wire B+, black & white ground if you have power there than i would say bad module unless you can chec each individual light circuit

Thanks. I'm getting ready to take it apart again in an hour or so. I'll be gettin' pics this time. I'll check the voltage although I believe it'* good. The Park dot lights up when I first start the car & then goes out right away. If I start it quickly & shift out of park, the dot stays lit at park & doesn't move. I'll give an update soon.

Oh man...I got it apart again & I have no freakin' idea what makes this thing work! I took some pics (found out I'm not a photographer.) Wires are all good & working. What makes the it know where the shifter is? Btw, does anyone know where I can get a replacement bulb? The LEDs work, I need the other one. # is CM 8-A126. I'm not finding it anywhere.
