Default code 55...?

hi all, i have a code 55 in my 93 se, and the haynes says it'* an o2 sensor or ecm, and this site just says "ecm". what does that mean, that i have a bad ecm?? cuz the car seems to run fine, i just have that stupid engine light on all the time. i reset the codes once and the light stayed off for a few hours, but came back on again after about 15 minutes of driving. again, the car seems to run and drive fine i just have no idea what to do about this code. thanks for the help!!

O2 would be 44 or 45. 55 does indicate a problem with the PCM. At this point, I'd be tempted to simply disconnect and reconnect the PCM a few times. Each connector (disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, play with the connectors, re-connect the PCM, then reconnect the battery).

You may just have some corrosion on a connector for a PCM ground.

Passenger side floor. Remove the kick panel and you should see the big thin silver box.

I have a suggestion. You have a bunch of NE members up there. We could arrange some help and a swap maybe? What about the Aviator?
