Default The check engine light is finally gone!!

Finally got the MAP sensor that'* been nagging me for about 6 months!! It'* so nice to not have that freakin' light on anymore!

And before anyone says anything, my "new" engine was just a short block. They used all the same "outside" parts for the swap, and I didn't think to tell 'em to fix the SES light problems. I was too worried about just getting her up and ruinning.

Cost me $57 for the sensor, an EGR Valve gasket and shipping from www.partsamerica.com

On this note, what are the ill effects of a bad MAP sensor? MPG? Power? what....?

Nobody cares.....

or has an answer to my question, so I found my own

MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Measures the air pressure in the intake manifold. Changes in engine operation and speed will affect the MAP sensor reading, which the computer uses in fuel and timing calculations. Often it will have a single vacuum line connection plus an electrical connection. Some turbo charged cars also use the MAP sensor to measure barometric pressure.
So, it could cause bad gas milage, and possible inaccurate KR

Too little, too late...

And the answer above was all I could find regard MAP sensors through Google. It was on 4 different pages, though, so I guess it'* at least fairly accurate...

Oh yeah? Prove it!!

What all can/must be cleaned with the EGR system of a 98 SE? I know the FSM says that carbon needs to be removed from the tubes if installing a new valve. I'm not putting in a new one, but I'd like to clean what'* there since I have the gasket anyways....
