check engine light
I have a 94 blue pontiac bonneville SE which has had check engine light on it since i had it. Dont know how I got through inspection and emissions. The code was 41 which most of you know is the camshaft sensor. Well I replaced the sensor, fixed the magnet, the crankshaft sensor and still no good. I remember reading one time about the coil packs being on the same circuit along with the ICM. I am wondering if it'* one of the coilpacks since my car stutters around 1500 to 3000 rpms pretty bad and sometimes when idling it can stutter pretty bad. I took it to a transmission guy who said he thought it was the torque converter slipping around 1500 to 3000 but I'm startin to think its the coilpacks, hence the cel. ANy info?
I have a 93 SSEi and had the same problem had a tune up and changed the wires still a problem so i changed the coil packs it solved the problem. it runs nice and smooth now. I would sugest replaceing the coil packs. I got a complete set from the auto wrecker as they a expensive from the dealer.
