Default Cat question

ok...i believe that my cat is clogged.....or gets clogged..and i dont really ahve the money to get a new one...well i got the money for a new one but i dont have the stuff to put one on and dont want to pay for it...anyways...could i just drill a big hole in the bottom of it to let it get out or would that screw somethin up?

How can u tell if it is clogged? Does it smell bad ? My inlaws 92 Lumina was so plugged that it would make the car stall. Changed the Cat and every thing runs fine...

after ive been drivin for a while...ill be doing like 55 and i kick it down and it goes but doesnt seem to want to...rpms go up and down a little...
