Yep, get a gauge and that'll help you diagnose this problem. Depending on the parts stores you have around, you may be able to borrow one. Heck, befriend a mechanic and you'll always have access to cool tools.

Default start

Your IAC valve could be sticking open causing a lean condition while starting and the check valve in the fuel pump is what holds pressure to the rail, so you will want to check the rail pressure after sitting a few hrs to see if its holding.

do you think this could be a problem with the IAC?

ok idle FP was 41 psi when I revved it it jumped to 60 or so???(free rev)

also when I turned it to on FP would spike real quick then drain to 0
This is that drain back valve thing I think
how do I replace that?
And is that good FP or is the pump going?

I followed the FSM procedure the other night. Can't tell you if the 41 is really good while running. (It'* about what I get idling.)

Correct test is turn car on on (not run), bleed out air. Turn key back on and watch pressure. Cycle car on as needed to obtain max pressure.

If it leaks down as you mention use a shutoff valve to determine if it'* the injectors or in the tank.
My assumption is if you cycle the ignition enough and it leaks down, you would get a poor start if the injectors were flooding a cylinder or two.

Acceptable range for fp on the test is 47-52 I think...(don't have manual in front of me.)

Weak coils can cause hard starting, especially in cold weather.
