Hi Pattie,

It was $600.00 at a local Pontiac dealer for the computer, crank sensor, and my dad also wanted a coolent change. It was lower than what he was expecting to pay since it was a dealer and all.

25- IAT High temp (throws this if it'* shorted!)
31- prndl input circuit
36- Trans shift problem
38- Brake input circuit
39-Torque Converter Clutch problem
61-65 - all Cruise control codes
66- Low AC refrigerant
67- Cruise control
68- Another cruise control
69- Another AC fault
99- power management

So you see, boys and girls, you can have alot wrong with the old bucket of bolts and not know it if you don't read the codes!
alright, me again over the weekend, it stalled again, twice in a row, while i was driving it ...going about 20 miles an hour.....after I started the second time, it seemed that my muffler broke (really super loud) ...so I took it to midas real fast and just asked them..they told me my catalyc (sp) converter busted, rusted out ...so i took it home and my husband checked it out and it wasnt that at all, it just fell apart (something like that) so he fixed it..needless to say, i HATE midas for lying and tryin to get a quick buck off me....but anyways, that day (saturday) he did the diag test and came up with code 17...now in yer post you said "Codes that do not throw a warning light:

17- Spark reference circuit"

So what does this code actually mean? This is the first code that ever came up for him (my husband did what you guys said bout the paper clip)

thanx alot for anyone who replys

Okay if it'* the Crank Sensor then P/N: 24501417 will work for either the L27 (VIN L -NA) or the L67 (VIN 1 - SC). This sensor is a 2 Bolt, 4 Pin Terminal type. It was also used in the LN3 (VIN C from 88 - 91) if you want to get one from the wrecker to try it first! Be warned though, it has to be perfectly aligned the same way it came off or the car will not start! I'm assuming you've checked the plugs, wires, fuel filter already! :?
