It'* been a few years ago now, I don't remember if it was Seafoam that he used. Basically the engine had to much carbon in it which cause the NO to be high.

Are you asking out the exhaust??

If my engine is burning oil but not enough to smoke would it cause the HC level to elevate? I have been consuming oil for sometime with this car.

Oh ok, no oil smell around the engine. The car has somewhat recently replaced valve cover, UIM, LIM, and oil pan gaskets.

Now I wonder if the oil it is consuming could be what'* coming out the exhaust and is causing the HC level to be elevated? The car doesn't and never has smoked.

Would a compression test be useful in diagnosing this? One other thing I have always ran 89 octange gas in it, a buddy at work today said I should only run 87 and that the 89 could be contributing to the higher HCs.

i dunno if 89 would cause for the emissions to go bad, but really all you are doing is wasting money because your car only needs 87

Been driving it the last week since the 02 was in the shop. The smell is of raw fuel out the tail pipe. I went ahead and bought a new set of plugs and wire and swapped the coils and igniting module out with a set of Delcos (used) since the ones in that I was using was from Advance auto/Auto Zone.

I read the ohms on the old and new wires

OLD - NEW
1, 3.8 - 5.7
2, 9.8 - 16.3
3, 8.8 - 12.3
4, 10.3 - 11.5
5, 8.0 - 11.5
6, 11.9 - 15.8

The plugs smelled like gas too, a couple were wet too. I will take a picture tomorrow and post it. Even after swapping all that out it doesn't seem to run or smell any different.
:? What should I look at now? I have a Actron 9190, it does not show any misfire.

It is going lean/rich rapidly and the mv is ranging from 80 to 800 something. The cross count was low. It seem to stay under 10 and pushing on the accelerator seem to make it change (I think that made it go down), I'm not sure what or how that should read.
