my compressor has a leak, i wanna take it off and rebuild it but i cant be without my car for any considerable period of time, so i would like to remove the compressor and temporarily reroute the belt while i work on it

Nobody has ever tried this but this is one way it could work. The torque axis mount may be in the way though. And as far as belt wrap goes I've seen worse OEM.
But if you want a sure thing check out:

Orr just leave it in there if it'* not seized.

While it'* good thinking...I'd warn against running the water pump in reverse.
