Default A/C air mix door actuator

Hi - I'm a newbie but I have followed the threads of the discussions on this topic but I couldn't find an answer . . .

I have a 93 ssei. It either blows hot air or cold air - nothing inbetween. In order to get it to blow hot - I have to turn the temp all the way up. Then, in order to get it to blow cold, I have to turn it all the way down. Before finding this forum, I went to a local GM Delco shop who indicated that the problem was most likely the EEC. I replaced that with a used one with no change in performance. Since joining the forum, I have run the climate control diagnostic and get a Fault Code 140, which I understand relates to the air mix door actuator. My question is - if the actuator moves the door to the full heat and to the full cold positions - is the problem witht the actuator or with the input the actuator is receiving? If the latter is the case, does the problem lie with the EEC or the programmer?

I would appreciate any insight any of you might have on this. Thanks.

Welcome...you've come to the right place. Somewhere around we have the procedures for attempting to calibrate the door. If not..most likely the gears inside are stripped out.

I'm not great at finding links...I know the link monkeys will be here quick for you.

Guys: He needs the calibration and the SSE Motorhead write up on how to replace w/o removing dash.
