Unless it'* the rubber in the brake line causing a check valve like function. Might explain the intermittent symptoms.
I took her in today & they just called - it'* the brake hose to that right front caliper. I'm having them change both front hoses & flush the brake fluid since that never has been done in its 68k miles, or more so its 16 years of age.
