Default brrrrr ......and no fan for heater !

my heater fan stopped working a couple times last year for no reason . then would start working again on its own. now first cold night i go to the store and no fan. nothing. worked fine on the way home from work. bad switch ? bad connection ? played with fan switch. nothing. is this a common problem ? oh...its a 96 ssei with 118,000 miles. this is about the only problem i have had with it.

Bang on the blower motor housing in the engine bay. If it cuts in and out, replace it.

Mine stopped how yours did. It would work sometimes and sometimes not. I had to replace it and now it works. BUT, the motor I put in there is not balanced and it only goes to level three. Which is better than no fan.
