BRAKE QUESTION
When the car first starts up, and you pull out of the driveway and star to slow down, the anti lock kicks in and kicks your foot back but still works. It only does it when the car first comes on.
Also, a few times i've started the car and the ABS light stays on (very rare), along with the Service Engine Soon light(also very rare), and a few times the Traction light wouldn't go off even when i pressed the traction button. Can't wait until Inflatable Restraint stays on too! Woohoo!! Spending money on mindless repairs is so relieveing!!!

The ABS does a brief system self-test the first time you exceed 14 mph after turning the key on. Could that be what'* happening?
If not, follow the previous advice about checking the basic brake system. If that'* all OK you may very well have a hub speed sensor failing.

What'* the year and trim line of your car?
Try not to hit the brakes when you first turn the car on and hit 14 mph, when it is going through its self test, otherwise you'll get that elevated pedal feel.
You can't turn off the traction control unless you are stopped.
