I have seen the exact same issues with the 305-350 chevy V8'* with the HEI distributor as well...
Both dealerships explained to me that they reccomended AC Delco, but anything would be better than bosch in the 3800...
Our cars use a Bosch Fuel pressure regulator, and in some cases Bosch fuel injectors.... But the O2'* and Plugs are crapp in the 3800..

I too have suffered from Bosch Platinum failures at low miles in other GM vehicles I've owned. As such, neither of my Bonnevilles will ever see one.
My 93 needed a new O2 sensor 3 years ago. Our bad experiences hadn't become apparent at that time, although there were some grumblings already. The O2 restored SOME lost efficiencey, but not all of it, and the sensor totally failed 30 days later.
