J - I believe he'* asking if his 92 (built on 9/01/91) could have a 91 engine.
strongsun1 - check your VIN number. If the eighth digit is a 'C' then you have the older motor.

there were 2 L27'*....early production 92'* that were EGRLess, these had the aluminum upper intake and the delco Type 1 ignition.....then you have the rest of 92-94 L27'* that had the EGR system, Plastic upper intake and the Delco Type 2 ignition

Oh yeah putting the 180 thermostat was the first thing I did to the car.
I've read in another topic that pulling a vacum hose off the engine and run it to a cup a water this will be beneficial in keeping engine clean.
is this true?
