I'm curious as to when that trunk lid pops. It takes a deliberate application of 12V+ to do that, and you're telling us that the trunk is _not_ open when you leave the car. How reproducible is this problem? i.e. How often does this occur?

The only thing I can think of is something weird happening at the 10-minute mark after shutdown, when the RAP relay is deactivated (assuming nobody'* opened a door already). Maybe some weird combination of broken ground paths is causing a power surge through other circuits that is enough to pop the trunk release. If the problem occurs pretty predictably, try locking the car as usual, pull up a chair and watch to see if anything happens 10 minutes later. (Come to think of it, sit _in_ the car for that 10 minutes instead. Maybe you'll hear some relays clicking or something...)

There'* also the Keyless Entry module, if you have that option. (Even if you didn't get keyless-entry transmitters with your car, the RPO code AU0 on the option code list in your trunk indicates that you have Keyless Entry.) Maybe that goes bonkers for some reason and pops the trunk... but it still has no means of turning on the radio... I'm still kind of stumped on this one.

In the relay box above the passenger footwells, there are 12v relays for the trunk release and radio, among others. Could the relay here, or the relay box be going bad, or more than one relay here??
