My Hood is separated. The skin and supports aren't connected as they should be. its still together at the edges but not the middle. It shakes and shimmies all down the road which is very distracting. It also wont latch properly but what I'm wondering is how I can reatach the two peices. I tried good old J B Weld but that let go after about a mile. I've welded my fair share of picnic tables and small trailers but I dont know if metal this thin can be welded. I've got a arc welder a wire welder and a oxy-acetaline setup at my house. I just want to know if any of you more experienced body men know of a great adhesive or technique. I guess welding is my only option. Please only tell me things you've seen done or done yourself to similar grade metals because a new hood is $550. oh also i dont worry about the paint. i think primer gray is a very nice color.
I would think that brazing would be the best. Welding would cause to much damage. Maybe take it to a good machinist or metal fab shop that accepts walk in trade. Most good body men can handle this.
