lol yeah i've been told if it isn't broke then don't try to fix it,also I tried trading it in on a 2001 sse and to date i haven't heard anything from em,so I take it as they're not interested in it,so i say &^&* em,i'll keep mine

3800'* aren't known for going through lifters... Usually they last a lifetime with no issues... But its possible to have 1 go bad with age and milage in any engine... I have a slight tick from my 95 Bonnie... You'd never know it at idle, it so minor that I have driven like this for 5 years... I have just kept the oil changed... Its never gotten any worse...
On my 91, I actually decided to replace the lifters when I had the heads off 5 years ago... That was the single largest mistake I ever made... I have to chase and replace 4 lifters... Then down the road I had another go bad, it was bad enough that you could hear it in the car while driving down the interstate....
I never threw the factory lifters away... That sat in oil for almost 4 years... I finally got irratated and reinstalled the factory lifters... What do you know, no more bad lifters
By chance would you be able to get a Video for us, to give us an idea of the sound?
