Another A/C Problem
Hi,
My ac is blowing ambient temperature air. I have put a can of R134 into the system and the pressure is 35psi. I checked the air acutuator arm and it moves. I also get hot air if I put the tempture way up. The compressors clutch is turning on but I get no cold air. Any suggestions on what to test next? What PSI should my car have?

With out knowing what the ambient temperature & relative humidity is, it'* just a guess as to whether the 35 psi is a good number. That 35 psi is obviously taken on the low side of the a/c system and would be indicitave of 80* temp. and below 40% rel. humidity. Is the a/c line (low side) getting cold. You may need a little more r134a.

The 97 has a V5 compressor and should not cycle.. Depending on the temps and humidity, you may need as much as 50-55 Psi on the low side
But like stated above, its hard to tell you what you need in the system without the Temps and humidity
