Default Another Bonnie blowing cold air

I have a 1992 SE. When it is cold out it only blows cold air out the defroster. When it is warm out I can get heat out the defroster. My question is does this model have a HVAC
programmer( I have three ***** one for fan, one for heat level, and one for heat location). Also when I turn the fan on 4(high) the flow of air is not what it should be, it'* too low. I'm thinking it is the mixing door and would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and how to fix it.

No, if you have ***** you have the much simpler system. I can't remember if there is a high speed fan relay - if there is, then it could be your fan problem.

OK, check the voltage at the fan motor as you cycle through each blower setting and tell us the voltage.

I checked - you have an electronic temperature valve actuator. It'* possible that the actuator is going bad. The controller is obviously the cool/warm dial. The way to check this is to watch the temperature valve actuator arm to see if it moves back and forth when you select different settings on the dial.

I'll be working on this problem on the weekend and I'll let you know on monday how I made out. Can I see the acctuator just by sticking my head under the dashboard. I have the service book and will be reading it before I start this project. Your information is easier to understand then the manual so, thanks a lot

Well I solved the heat problem Low coolant !!!!!!!!! The fan is blowing as hard as it should but the air is still not coming out as strong as it should when it is set to defrost. Does anyone know if the recirculator door should be open when the defoster is on. The recirculator door only opens when Max A.C. is selected. I have 17 inches of vacuum to run the controls ( I think this is enough vacuum).

I believe that the recirc only comes on with Max AC, but I would have to check. Did you clear all of the crap away from your air intakes?

Max AC comes on with windshield defrost automatically. The AC compressor must be running to remove humidity from the cockpit.

I would also check every heater hose you can find as well. That coolant is going somewhere, and you don't want to be in the middle of nowhere when you find out where.
