Default annoyance in the gauges

i am having a problem where my tail lamp warning is always on. 1995 ssei, all the lights are working, including the brake lights, so why would it be telling me there is a problem?

I had the same problem before. It was a license plate light that I never thought to check. If that is not the problem, I would take each bulb out and clean any corrosion off the contacts.

Actually it may have just needed time to sense the resistance with the new bulb in it. For example I had a signal light go out on my while going to the T.O. meet in March. I changed the bulb and it took some using that specific signal bulb before the DIC told me it was fine again. Just a thought though.

Well, current flow; yes. It needs to learn the current circuit flow characteristics, compare those readings to what it measured _last_ time, and decide whether to turn on a warning or not. There'* some explanation about how it works in the service manual, and I remember thinking that whoever wrote it seemed really pleased with themselves about the clever design...
