Default Alternators

Went out to my car this morning after driving for 1:15 last night from the cities meet to here. Car had NO juice. With my brand new Optima, and nothing left on, my bets are a fried Alt. Probably why my old batt didn't work so great.

After seeing this link... http://www.mralternator.com/

are Series II (L36 or L67) the same as L27 alternators?

Also what are some other good deals at stores, or online? Mr Alt is pricey..

Call him for the right alt. I've seen nothing that compares to his quality, as proven here in several (a dozen?) cars. His warranty is the best as well.

Options from $75 -215 here:
http://www.partsamerica.com/SelectPa...ectParts%2Easp

Mankato store hours:
http://advanceauto.know-where.com/ad...ato::MN::56001

I have heard that both last longer when the battery and alternator are replaced together. (I have never done it, but I have read some horror stories here about 3 or more alternators in 7 years!)

Another option. Here in Ames, there is a great little shop (Ames Auto Electric) that rebuilds alternators, starters, and generators from pretty much anything. They are quick, do good work, and it usually costs about $60-75 to rebuild an alternator. They rebuilt the starter for my SSEi for $62. I don't know if Wenzel Auto Electric there in Mankato does the same?

I was talking to my mom at work (does the books for 98th street auto in Bloomington) and she passed the phone onto the shop manager. I'm getting a Factory Delco Reman 140 amp for Wholesale price. Reman instead of rebuild, so everything inside is new

But for the suggestions.

There are 105 and 140 amp depending on what model and options you have. Heated windshield for example come with a 140 amp alt. Your SE most likely has the 105.

Pat, i believe they're all the same size, but they have different windings and regulators inside. Well Smellbirds 200amp we installed was the same size.
