Default Alternator?

Yesturday after a month and a half of the Bonneville sitting i decided to start it.
As it did a few months ago when i installed my headers..i had issues.
Car idles and produces 13.7-14.0 volts of charge.
When the RPM is increased to around 2500 the voltage drops to 10.5 or 11, lights dim out and such..then it makes a click sound and goes right back to 13.7 volts, lights get bright again, all is good. However, it doesnt stop going from 10.5 to 13.7 it will make the click sound and drop about every minute or so. It did this also when the car being drove a few months ago, under heavy throttle.
Anything?
My battery is a Optima red top, and its in pretty good shape.

Any indication of belt slip during the voltage drop? If not, you may have a problem in the alternator with the voltage regulator, or internal connections to it. Just to be sure, check the connections to the alternator, also.

Had a similar issue with a '93, but it would also set off all of the warning lights when it did it. Replacing the alternator took care of the problem. The re-builder'* standard alternator test did not show a problem.

I don't see the connector in the back of the alternator getting loose, but JIC.

Either some accessory on the car is turning on and off killing the voltage or you have a short internally in the alternator.
