Default Air Conditioning Problem

I had my A/C charged up last summer and at the time my mechanic said that he didn't find any leaks.
I don't think that the charge lasted one week and before this the A/C wasn't that great at getting cold. The compressor doesn't even engage and all I get is hot air. Could there be a blockage in the system?

I don't use the car that much in the summer, but it would be nice to have the A/C working when I need it.

The clutch did engage when I had the A/C recharged, but It didn't last long.

Let'* see if I'm reading this correct.
1. Last summer you had A/C recharged and mechanic said he didn't "find" any leaks. Did he do a complete leak check using a UV dye? Did he do a complete evac of the A/C system, put new oil in and recharge?
2. The compressor ran then, but assuming it does not click on today correct?
