Adjustable seat problem
In our '94 SSEi, we have the 18 way power seats (9 buttons) and the bottom 3 and left middle don't work. They work sometimes, but rarely. It is the part that inflates the lumbar and bolsters on the seats. The others work fine, like angling, elevation, and horizontal position. There is no money to get it checked out because money is already being spent on other more urgent repairs such as power steering pump (which you can hear winding up as the engines RPM'* increase) , pulley tensioners (which squeek and chirp alot now), passenger door side plastic trim piece (which got caught on the metal behind the plastic trim behind the wheel + infront of door, and snapped), the front fender needs to be replaced & painted because some blind old man/woman hit our car, and the stabalizer bars need to be replaced (they go every 2 months and no body can give us an explanation as to why this keeps happening)...
Anyways, this message was about the seats, sorry to get so off topic...

Dan, the compressor for the lumbar/love handles on BOTH seats is located under the passenger seat. Select a seat, and push an inflate function. Does the compressor vibrate? (you can see it under there).
If it doesn't, disconnect the harness from it and check for 12V when you select an inflate seat function. If you have 12V, replace the compressor. You can read the 8-digit GM part number off it with a flashlight and small mirror. Run the number through www.gmpartsdirect.com or get it from a wrecker.
If you don't get 12V at the compressor, pull your seat switch panel out, disconnect the 3 wiring harnesses, and carefully remove the screws on the back. Get any dust or crud out of there, and make sure the electrical contacts are clean.
My gut tells me the compressor is bad.
