Default AC compressor

Bonneville 92 SSE, ac compressor making noise, clutch seem "loose"
Can compressor be bypassed? What would be easier get shorter belt or ac compressor bypass pulley? If left as is, what'* the worst that can happen?
Just trying to keep my baby goin without getting a 2nd mortgage!
Any advice???

A 73 inch belt can be used to bypass the AC entirely. I don't know if AC delete pullies exist for it or not.
