Default ABS and Traction lightcome on after noise

As I am driving along I will hear a noise that sounds like an electric shaver (loud buzzing) often after turning a corner, but not always then the ABS and traction light come on. After I turn off the car and turn back on the lights go off and may not come on again for minutes or hours. The sound sounds like it is coming from my ABS control module, does this sound like the problem or is there something else more likely the problem.
I have a 97 Bonnie SE K, I'm trying to avoid going to the dealer and pay $125 for a scan.
Thanks I appriciate any input.

Sounds like the self-check. It'* supposed to happen within a few seconds of driving or at a certain speed after a start.....I don't recall which.

Sound coming from under the hood, right? That'* the PMV assembly. Sounds like your pump is shot. That'* a very expensive part unless you get it from a wrecker. Dealer cost on it was $750 the last I checked. GMPD should be cheaper. Just make sure you diagnose before spending that kind of money to fix it (in other words, the dealer scan is a good idea).

Thanks for the advice, I think for now I will just take the fuse out of the ABS until I can get a scan.
Thanks
