Default ABS traction control module

I have a 97 Bonneville SE non supercharged, need a new ABS traction control module and I am finding several parts number listings. Can I use any of these or is there a specific one that I need.

Tahoe (howdy neighbor, I'm from not too far away originally, and Tahoe was my home away from home), have you tried to find the part number on yours?

I can tell you that if a dealer didn't diagnose it, it'* probably not bad. I've only seen one (assuming you're talking about the EBCM/computer) go bad here ever. It'* usually the PMV assembly or a wheel speed sensor (hub assembly).

Just don't want to see you popping cash for a bummer.

Yeah, I used to live in Tahoe for the last six years, I was a manager at a ski resort. I got sick of the Disneyland pricing on food, gas, housing and all of the tourists looking at the pretty lake while driving 18 miles an hour.

Can I go somwhere besides a dealer to get a scan, Humboldt County is kind of expensive at the dealer. Is it something I can get off of a regular scanner or is it something I can get off of a regular scan. Sorry for my lack of knowledge on the subject my last ride was an 81 Toyota pickup, may she rust in peace.
Thanx

Humboldt County would be expensive for a dealer unless you had some pot to trade.

Ok, only the dealer can scan it. A traditional OBD2 scanner won't report ABS codes. How about we start with your symtoms? Everything regarding TC and ABS? We can take you through the obvious troubleshooting from there, but in the long run, the scan will end up costing you at least $80 if it comes to that.

Weather isn't very severe for you compared to me, and I've got TC and ABS totally disabled on one of my cars, and TC on the other. No problems here.

I recently took mine into Grafe Chevrolet in Hallettsville, Texas. They scanned my ABS for $49 and found out that my driver'* side wheel bearing was out, causing my ABS to dissable itself. After spending about $140 on a new one, the car is working, and handling much better, especially in the rain. Best thing to do is shop around when your looking at getting the ABS scanned, and/or repaired. I did the work myself and it wasn't hard to replace at all. Best regards.
