Default ABS controller?

I hope this is not a noobish question but can someone point to me where the ABS controller is located? My ABS completely failed not long ago and we just had a nice snow fall in our area.
It started off by pulsating while i was driving then the ABS light would come on, but now each time i start the car the ABS light is on for good.

Reading through a guide it says it connected along with a pump, will the brake fluid start pissing out once the module is removed?

Should be located directly in front of your master cylinder. Follow the steel brakes lines from the master cylinder to the ABS pump. The controller should be sitting right next to it.

Your brake system will function normally even though your ABS faulty. Unless you are leaking brake fluid.

Try disconnecting your battery for a couple hours. This should clear any ABS codes you may have. Then reconnect and try a restart.

Almost forgot, I am not sure if their is a bypass kit. If you notice, you have 2 lines coming from the master cylinder and 4 lines coming from the ABS system to the individual brakes. No simple way of bypassing that I know of.

Whoa, hold on. Don't just assume its the pump or computer. The ABS does its own self test. It could be something simple as a disconnected wheel sensor or something. See if Autozone will scan your ABS system. Then post what you found out.

my last statement wasnt really to clear. Heres the story...

Last winter it would sometimes pulsate and show me the stupid light (i.e self test) , it completely failed over the last summer we had (i.e just the light was showing each time i drove her, so i unplugs the battery for an hour or so to reset the error codes. From there on it started doing the self test again and lighting up the ABS light again. Now this lasted for a good 2 weeks until the light has been permanently on each time i started her till today. So my assumption is the controller if not that then maybe one of the wheel sensors.
I got someone i know working at a scrap yard so picking up parts i need wont cost me much

Sounds like a bad WSS. Try changing them first. Way easier and way cheaper.

dan i tried cleaning the WSS but from the looks of it , its unscrewable . Seems like its part of the whole wheel hub
Basically all i see is the sensor wire sticking out of the hub

They should come off, but I'm not sure on your year.

The front ABS sensors are part of the hub. Can be a PITA to change out.

This is for a 96 B-ville

The rear ones are simple mounted sensors.

Can find the info on Autozone.
