I had a brakeline rupture on my 1998 SLE just under the passenger rear door area, it is the line that crosses under the rear seat area connecting the driver side rear brakeline to the passenger side rear brakeline. I have a 1996 SE to use for parts and would like to know if the brakelines are interchangable from the 96 to the 98. I have sprayed the nut at each end of the brakeline to help free up when I try to loosen, each end looked slightly rusty and did not want to break anything else when trying to replace. Thanks for any help or info.

for as cheap as you can make brake line i wouldnt bother putting an older line on the car your just going to be doing it again, i did every line on my bonnie including purchasing the metric tool was $100-120. its been my experience once one goes you might as well do them all. and i certainly wouldnt mess with old used ones
I agree. I've had to redo the brake line under the door on my 97 SE. Also recently redid all of the lines under my 86 Olds, including the fuel line, since thay all run together
