Default 97 gas gage problems

my gas gage is broken. is there any easy and inexpensive way to fix this?

What is your trim level? It'd be a good idea to add that information to your signature line.

And, can you go into more details on your issue? When did it start failing? What does it do now? Sit at full? Sit at empty? Give us more details so we can better assist!

i dont really know that much about cars, i just know about audio. i am not sure what trim level is. it is stuck at full. it happened about a year ago. since then i have just been filling up every 250 miles on the trip odometer. i would really like to know about fixing the gas gage though.

it sounds like the fuel sender and assmebly will need to be replaced, i believe that is the fix for the gas gague issue...you have to drop the tank to perform this tho...

I had the same issue with my 99. It was the fuel sender. It costs about $300 from gmpartsdirect.com. You have to drop the tank to get to the sender.
