how about temp sensor, if the sensor shows that its too warm out when its really cold then it won't give it enough fuel. do a resistance test if you don't have access to a scantool that shows data, the lower the resistance the warmer its reading, around 9500 ohms is 32 degrees F and around 180 ohms is 212 degrees F.

yes, the one screwed into the engine, it should have 2 wires,, if its reading way to low it could flood the engine or if its reading too hot it could starve the engine for fuel , and the thermostat won't cause it to not start, but it would cause the engine not to run efficiently and it will take forever to warm up .

what does it do when it tries to start, backfire through intake, or runs a little?

it seems like if you kind of just bump start the car it tends to fire but if you just hold the switch down and let themotor just spin over and over it doesn't fire,it usually takes like 5 minutes of just hitting the switch to get it to finally crank,if you let the motor turn over like 1 or 2 times it usually fires but finally cranks, spitting and sputtering then finally clears up and smooths out and idles fine...am now leaning towards the ignition switch???i need to pull plug and check firing..

Check for spark at each of the three front plugs.

If it has not been done recently, remove both battery cables and carefully examiine and clean each end. Peel back the insulation, check for and remove any corrosion. If you can't get them clean, replace them. Use dielectric grease on the connections when re-installing them. Do the same thing for the ground connection for the PCM by the oil filter, the ground for the ICM on the bolt underneath it, and the body ground by the battery on the inner fender. This is a common problem that can cause a no-start or stall condition. There is also a ground bus under the driver'* side door sill that can become corroded and cause problems although I am not sure if that one will cause no-start.

the one under the door sill could cause an intermitant no start, but there would be no fuel pressure and various other things like the power windows and such might not work at the same time
