I did the RPM purge last night and this morning it didn't make a difference. Temp gauge on the dash went up to almost 200*F and then dropped straight down to about 160*F in about 3 seconds. Then it climbed slowly back up to 195*F and dropped straight down to 160*F and continued this cycle.

I guess I'll stop at the auto parts store tonight and pick up another 195*F thermostat and also a radiator flush kit. Add that to my list of projects for the weekend.
