Hello all, Wow,,, it has been a while since I have been here..... Now called GM Forum.... Will have to do some looking around.
But, My problem is::::: The actuator or controler that moves the selector on my digital controls, (The one that has the gears in it, that sometimes strip out, is bad. I know that it is bad, so what I did during the winter months is just put the other end where the actuator hooks to, I pushed it over so that I could get heat.....
Well now that it is in the upper 80s here in Ohio, I need to move that selector back over so that the heat is shut off, and I can get some cool air out of it, and also run the air conditioner. Well when I stick a screw driver in to move it over, It moves over just fine, But then when I turn the air on, it snaps back over to the hot selection.
Could this be a vacuum issue or does that actuator have to be hooked up to keep it over to the cool side.
If I may be saying something wrong, please ask questions if needed.
I have 4 windows down and am sweating my tail off....

Yes, you need something to hold it in position. I believe the natural flow of air through the HVAC system will push it back to heat on you.

FWIW, I've changed a bunch of these. It'* not overly hard if you are a flexible 100lb contortionist, which I am not. Overall though.. it'* not too bad.
