Found this on Ebay...for the EARLY FWD 3800s, and shows windage tray. The S1'* from 92-95, the windage tray looks different but mounted up the same way.

I'll get mine up here when I come home from work...'bout 6ish pm my time.

Oh so thats what a windage tray is. My 94 pan has one and most likely the 95 as well. I may have a pic of mine and I'll post it if I find it when I get home.

Also known as baffles. These trays keep oil from pooling to one side of the engine when taking a corner, which in turn keeps the oil pickup submerged in life-sustaining oil and lowers the chance of oil pressure drop. It also keeps the oil from being whipped up by the wind generated by the crankshaft at higher rpm'*. Usually only found on high-performance builds.

And that, my friends, is your technical lesson for the day.

Anyways......Good technical lesson for the day Sandrock, I already knew what the answers were to the windage trays or "baffles"......but I don't think I could have put it like you.

Mines the same, but it looks ugly after coming out of the parts washer. Almost looks like dirt was just wiped off of it or something.

I'm jealous.. the S2 setup is not pretty like the S1.

Got a spare oil pan last night As I'll be doing a gasket soon myself.

Thanks for the pics..
