is there any one out there who knows about these engine computers or proms/chips? the problem im having for example is what chip/prom goes with what car. i can go to rock auto and look up a prom for the 94 se, but nothing on the ssei. my ssei has a prom in it that is listed for the se...the one i got is delco bhdu 4751....how do i know what prom my car really needs? i have three computers from the 94-95 bonnevilles, all with different proms, what prom would be correct for the ssei? where could i find this information? no place ive looked so far has a listing for an ssei prom, but i can find a prom for the se. i have three computers all with number 16183247 the proms are bhdu 4751 bbtd 4687 bhdu4774 any help or knowledge shared would be a great help...thanks

The prom labeling could mean anything. It may not have to do with the programming or it might be the various versions of the software.

Ryan at GMTuners probably is the best source for knowing these proms and the programming. Typically when you aim to replace a pcm, you swap over your existing prom and call it a day.
