is there a certain mileage that 94 se'* have this sort of problem? anyone? also wondering if you need to know my engine is "L".. not really sure what that means.. my car has 150, 000 miles it seems to be a the point when things are going through a round. Lots of work done recently on brakes/ and the main vents stopped working/then all the sputtering/rev issues... all seem to be unrelated..

Wondering if this could all be due to a bad fuel injector? thinking 5 isn't firing..or only sometimes..

When they changed the cam sensor did the check for the magnet?
I just changed my ICM and it did nothing. I think I'm going to try the PCM next before I break into the engine.
I'll let you know if I find the source before your mechanic.

Thanks for letting us know what you did to get it fixed, but I have a couple more questions for you. Did you get the codes read after the mechanic replaced the cam and they SES light went on again or were those just the original codes?

It matters because a vacuum issue, while certainly a culprit of missing and rough running, should not throw the codes you mentioned above.

I just want to clear this up so that we don't mislead others.
