93 top end on a 91 block?
Good evening all. I'm not a new user to this forum, I just come here when I have trouble with one of my Bonnies. This is so few and far between that I never remember my user info and end up starting over. Here'* my problem, got a 93 SE with spun rod bearing. My neice who is off at college has my old 91 and it'* not runnin so good, 270K and free to her so she can't complain. I'd like to get the 93 back up and running ASAP. I have a 91 motor from my wife'* old car that'* all good, appx 130K. So finally I get to the point, could I take my good 91 motor, put new bearings and rings in it, put the 93 top end on it and call it good? The only minor difference I see on the blocks is the 93 has a knock sensor on it, so whats to stop me from drilling and tapping a hole to put it in? Thanks.

the Top end will physically bolt up to the LN3 Block...with out problems....NOW your 91 motor will not have the roller rockers in the heads that the L27 would have came with from the factory...while i cant see this causing a problem...just throwing it out there

The 91 Block can be used... But on the Torque axis mount you may be minus a bolt, the same may go for the compressor bracket( I forget )... The 93 roller Pivot heads will swap directly to the 91 Block as well as the upper and lower intake Goodies... To be able to use the 93 Top end you will have to swap the heads... The 91'* bottom end is physically the same as the 93 with the only acceptions being a threaded boss or 2.. we have done this before to a Lesabre with no issues
