Couldn't this be a problem with my oil pressure sending unit. Before the hand use to be maxed out. And after my car shaking incident it read normal and never made it to 140 psi, but only start ups.

Another thing is I dont know if I'm jumped the fuel pump right. By placing a piece of wire on the jumper and the other end on the red battery post, is that sufficient? Or do I need a jumper to plug into the fuel pump jumper.

I checked to see if I had pressure at the rail this morning and there was some pressure, but not a whole lot??????

The oil pressure sender is wired into the fuel pump circuit. A short in the sender could blow the fuel pump fuse. Did you check all the fuses? Fuel pump fuse might be #6 on the passenger side. You can also try swapping the fuel pump relay with one of the others. Do you have a multimeter?

the fuses are good. I hear the door relay click and another relay click which would most likely be the fuel pump, because those are the only 2 things of my knowledge that powers on by relay with the ignition switch on.

Did I jumper the fuel pump right?

I just installed my new AC Delco pump and I'm still not getting any pressure. I had one of my guys turn the ignition on so I can hear the fuel pump run, but I didn't hear anything. I installed the connectors and went over everything I did with a fine tooth comb. The relay is clicking when the ignition is switched on. Could the cam or crank sensor play a part in this?

Oh, Tech Ted I did that before I bought the pump. Isn't the oil pressure sender unit in the same circuitry as the fuel pump?

The crank & cam sensors will not prevent the fuel pump from working.

The oil pressure sender is a secondary power source (on some years). It won't be a problem unless it'* causing the fuel pump fuse to blow. Sometimes you can't see the blown part of the fuse while it'* installed. Did you remove the fuse (#6? passenger side) to check it?

If the fuse is good then try swapping the fuel pump relay with one of the others. You never said if you have a multimeter ( or12 volt test light).

This is going to come down to one of three things.
1 - you're not getting power to the pump.
2 - you replaced the pump with a faulty unit.
3 - you have a bad ground.
